Vök – Live at the Moroccan Lounge

/
/

Vök is a swiftly rising indie-electronica band from Reykjavík, Iceland. The group was originally formed by Margrét Rán and Andri Már to perform in Iceland’s Músíktilraunir, a prestigious battle of the bands competition, which they won. Last year, Vök signed an international record deal with Nettwerk Music Group and released their first full-length studio album, Figure. While the band described their last EP, Circles “a very electronic and computer based release,” with Figure, they “took the music out of the computer and into a more live and organic environment.”

Last week, Vök was in L.A. on their first North American tour. On Wednesday (10/17) they opened for Australian artist, Mallrat, and the Moroccan Lounge. They filled the small venue with their atmospheric sound and high energy performance. Check out some live footage of Vök play Breaking Bones and BTO off of Figures, and the newly released single, Autopilot,  below.
