Antonio Carlos Jobim – Corcovado (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars)
Throwback Thursdays are a chance for us to reflect back on some of the great music that has paved the way for current musicians today. To honor those who have created timeless music from the past. For our first throwback, we chose to highlight Antonio Carlos Jobim – Corcovado (Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars).
Antonio Carlos Jobim was a Brasilian composer, pianist, guitarist, songwriter, and singer. A trendsetter for brazilian music, famous for helping internationalize the sound of bossa nova. In 1965 his album Getz/Gilberto won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, the first ever for a Jazz album. Jobim has passed away and is no longer with us but his timeless music will live on forever
